Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Seriously though, Tumblr is full of those 'troo fans' that have no fantrolls, never cosplay, liked everything about Homestuck, and understood it all, read all pesterlogs, know shipping chart by heart, only ship pairings in said shipping chart, know how old the Ancestors were and what was the relationship or lack thereof between all of them.

Just so you know, I really have nothing against liking canon ships, heck, I like one or two myself.
...But making it a philosophy?
I also admit I don't understand the plot, major part of it anyway.
Because I never cared.
I like the characters, I like to ship them, I like the art style, I like the humour.
What else do you want?
I'm not coming to your pages and talking about stuff I have no idea about, or telling you how much such and such pairing sucks, now am I?
So stop acting like I and most of my friends are the 'cancer', please.

Also, it might be weird, I don't know, but
unlike most HS fans, I wish it wasn't as popular. Too much attention isn't good.

While I agree that there are hipsters and elitists in the Homestuck fandom, I don't blame them for blaming shippers either. Some of them can get insane about their OTP's and stuff and it just gets really bad and annoying. That's what happened to the 4chords girl person....chick.

But then again everyone has a different defense mechanism for everything. Theirs is just projection.
